High Speed Planer 8oz

We won't set sail without this essential item, the Sea Striker HS8 High Speed Planer. While we enjoy using a downrigger, its bulkiness is a drawback. However, with this kit, we have found a solution that works just as effectively but is much easier to use.

This high-speed planer is not only easier to deploy, but it also requires less attention. Additionally, its storage is a breeze. It is ideal for high-speed deep trolling, surpassing the performance of a traditional downrigger. It acts similarly to a downrigger, allowing you to engage in the fight with fish without the hassle of dealing with its bulk and weight.

To use the planer, simply attach it to a stern cleat and let it run off its own line. The kit includes a double-ended swivel which you can attach to the planer line. Wrap a rubber band around your fishing line, lock it in the snap swivel, and release. Your lure will glide down the planer line, effectively pulling your bait deeper into the water.

When you get a strike, the line from the fishing rod separates from the planer, enabling you to freely engage in the battle with the fish. No need to retrieve after every catch, unlike conventional downriggers. Simply attach another double-ended swivel and rubber band, and send your line back down.

The planer line is made of 300lb. test mono and has a length of 36'. It is attached to a polypropylene rope for securing it to the cleat. The heavy-duty braced planer, line, snaps, and rubber bands are all included in the kit. Furthermore, it comes with detailed instructions and a convenient storage bag.
